Head of the Hooch

WHEN: November 6-7, 2021
WHERE: Chattanooga, TN

The Head of the Hooch is a 2-day rowing regatta held annually on the first full (Saturday and Sunday in the same month) weekend in November in Chattanooga, TN. The head race is currently run downstream on a 3.1 miles (5.0 km) course on the Tennessee River. It presently ranks as one of the largest rowing regattas in the United States. 

Halloween Costume Row

WHEN: Sunday, October 31
WHERE: Boatyard, Blackburn Point

Wear a costume or colorful outfit to row on Sunday, October 31st and compete for a trophy.  Our costume party will also serve as our kick-off for our monthly Sunday potlucks.

Pink the Boathouse

WHEN: Sunday, October 24, 2021
WHERE: Blackburn Point, Osprey, FL

On Sunday October 24th we will participate in Row for the Cure's Pink the Boathouse for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Please wear your best PINK outfit to our morning row.  Refreshments after the row. 

sarasota 5000

WHEN: Saturday, October 2, 2021
WHERE: Blackburn Point, Osprey, FL

This is a 5000 meter race starting at the SCRC/Scullers boatyard located at Blackburn Point Park going south, under the swing bridge, on the Intracoastal Waterway. Sponsored by the Sarasota Scullers Youth Organization.

USRowing Masters National Championships

WHEN:  August 12-15
WHERE: Oak Ridge, TN

The 2021 USRowing Masters National Championships will be held on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Hosted by Oak Ridge Rowing Association, this years championships will bring over 1,400 crews from 110 clubs to compete August 12-15.

FINAL RESULTS: “Sunday was the final day of a four-day U.S. Masters National Championship, from Oak Ridge, TN. Our club sent a team of 16 rowers, 8 women and 8 men. These folks raced hard over the four days regatta in 26 entries. We managed to qualify boats for 20 finals. Out of these 20 final races, we medaled in 13 events: 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze. Great job everyone!” SCRC

Halifax Summer Regatta

WHEN: Sunday, July 25, 2021
WHERE: Halifax River, Daytona Beach, FL

The 24th Annual Halifax Summer Regatta will be staged on the beautiful Halifax River, July 24 and 25, 2021! The impressive Veteran’s Memorial Bridge is the perfect viewing platform to see the races and a panoramic view of the intercoastal waterway.

RESULTS: ”We are the 2021 Florida State Champions, after we won the overall points trophy at the Halifax Regatta, in Daytona Beach, on July 25th!” SCRC

Masters scrimmage on Lake Minneola with LAKE County Rowing Association (LCRA), Edgewater Crew Boat House, and Sarasota County Rowing Club.

WHERE: Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota, FL

This is the final of four regattas in this series. AYC I and II were also at NBP, with AYC III at Oak Ridge, Tenn.  More info can be found at Regatta Central.

SCRC Giving Challenge Thru May 3, 2021

Two of our very generous members have agreed to match, dollar for dollar up to a total of $10,000, any contribution made to the Club by May 3. This is a unique opportunity for us to replace revenue due to the cancellation of SIR 2021.
