Sarasota County Rowing Club (SCRC) is a masters-only rowing club rowing out of Blackburn Point in Osprey, Florida. SCRC has over 100 members including full-time as well as a large complement of seasonal members. Members range in age from their 20's to 80's and participate in both sculling and sweep rowing, competitively and recreationally. SCRC is also home to the Sarasota Adaptive Rowing program, a highly successful team of para-rowers.  

Adults row year-round on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) near the Gulf of Mexico. SCRC participates in many regional and national regattas and is host of the nationally recognized Sarasota Invitational Regatta held annually at Nathan Benderson Park.

We will be offering Learn to Row Mini-Clinics March 14, 21, and 28, 2026 from 8AM-12PM.  

Each Mini-Clinic Session is a 4-hour session teaching the new rower the basics of rowing including:  safety, posture, blade handling, balance, and first strokes.  Participants in the mini-clinic sessions will be considered for the full 4-week immersive Learn to Row Programs (Spring 2026 Dates To Be Announced Soon).

Your SCRC Membership dues include access to coached rowing sessions. Coached rowing sessions are typically scheduled both on and off the water each week. 

Experience the excitement of sprint racing on one of the best rowing venues in the country! The Sarasota Invitational Regatta (SIR), February 28-March 1, 2026,  features three days of youth and masters rowing at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL !   Your chance to row on the site of the 2021 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, the 2018 World Rowing Masters and the 2017 World Rowing Championships.

Hosted by SCRC, the SIR began in 2010. In its inaugural year, it had a little over 300 boat entries and 600 competitors. In its eleventh year, there were almost 800 boat entries and over 1,500 individual competitors and the numbers are growing.

SARP’s mission is to provide disabled veterans and other disabled athletes with year ‘round opportunities to build physical fitness, self-esteem and community connections through rowing.
